About

Every painting provides a fresh experience, an opportunity to explore chaos and to reorganize that chaos into a state of balance. The language of the purely abstract form and the human figure provides me with a vocabulary to communicate my passion for movement through space and manipulating shapes and forms, light and textures.

I work in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pencil, gouache, ink, collage and mixed media. Anything that can make a mark is considered an acceptable tool. I paint both en plein air and in my studio as well as painting during musical performances, jams, dance and yoga classes.

Recently, in addition to working on my large, studio paintings, I have returned to small studies in oil and watercolor to hone my drawing skills, explore new color palettes and to become reacquainted with my tools for painting while traveling and visiting friends.
