For me, beauty is not only about form and color, but also light and texture. I like to create texture on my paintings by building layer upon layer of paint and pieces of cut paper. I often use paint and paper with a metallic quality to allow the painting to shimmer and shine, depending on the lighting and the angle in which it is viewed.
