It gives me extreme pleasure when I see someone wearing yummies™ or displaying one of my creations in their home. And I thoroughly enjoy connecting with Etsy shoppers on a personal level. I hope you enjoy browsing my shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/cjyummies

I am not ashamed to admit that I have cravings for color. I discovered fused glass actually helps quench that thirst, providing curative properties unlike other artistic pursuits for me. I continually discover new color combinations by blending various hand cut opaque and transparent glass to create different nuances. Sometimes the layering of glass creates "happy mistakes" that I find after I remove the piece from the kiln. Usually it is a pleasant find - sometimes not so much! Another thing I appreciate is the adaptability of fused glass. As a result, I make various functional and fashionable art from decorative bowls to interchangeable belt buckles.

Current color trends and nature’s vibrant flora inspire my yummies™ collection. With mouth-watering color combos, many say that my art looks good enough to eat. For this reason I named my business CJ Yummies, reflecting my desire to create original art in delicious colors.

I started making Yummies™ in 2006 after a bit of soul searching. I was worn-out after nearly two decades of handling public relations at ad agencies and non-profit organizations. After taking a glass class to fill my hobby-less life, the proverbial light bulb nearly short-circuited my brain. It was an "aha" moment when I realized that fused glass rejuvenated my spirit and sharing my creations with the world warmed my soul.

I grew up in the midwest, but I went to college in the sunny south, lured by the sweet smell of magnolias and good 'ol southern hospitality. I majored in public relations from the University of Georgia and worked in Atlanta after I graduated. Several years later I relocated after landing a dream job coordinating public relations at historic Drayton Hall in my husband's hometown, Charleston, SC.

I have lived in Charleston now for more than half of my life and enjoy boating, jogging, soaking in the sun, and quality family time in this dreamy picturesque city.

CJ Yummies on Etsy is an online shop for handmade, color-splashed fused glass jewelry, modern home decor, belts, hair accessories, tableware, and more!
