About

HI! I am an Interior Designer and Construction Supervisor by day - vintage crafter by night. I have been a lifelong collector (my husband would say HOARDER, but my things are clean/ organized/ and seasonally on display--so again, I DO NOT FIT THE PROFILE!)

I always loved that my Mom took the time to "deck the halls" in a big way. When I would see the attic stairs come down, I knew all the little holiday friends would be sprinkled around the house soon! I literally could not wait! It was magical to come home from school and see the house transformed for the holidays. I always knew I would do the same one day for my own family.

As a rule, there are 4 seasons, but many holidays. Sooo...why not change it up and create a little holiday cheer throughout the year? The house looks SO bare when Christmas goes back in the box(es)... but I just…

About

The house looks SO bare when Christmas goes back in the box(es)... but I just regroup and move right on into Valentine's Day! Yes, I decorate for every season and all holidays - it's fun for me and it's also a good excuse to deep clean - see the wisdom here?

Like many Etsy enthusiasts, I enjoy searching for and finding vintage trinkets and supply. My mom hooked me on Estate Sales years ago (or as my children used to say - dead people's stuff,) so I look primarily for vintage craft materials ...(because frankly, how many pairs of $1.00 scissors can one person really use?)

So how did crafting & collecting lead to this Etsy shop? Earlier this year, I got hooked on Instagram. (If you have adult children, you know they have all left FB, so if you want to see their pictures - get on Insta!) Little did I know, there was a whole community of crazy collectors & crafters out there - just like me - only they are EVEN MORE extreme!! I looked at their massive collections of vintage japan, spun head, Easter, Valentine, Christmas collectibles and I had palpitations...oh what a feast for the eyes and my soul! I also had an epiphany...I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!

So, I decided to put all my little crafty tidbits together and see if anyone out there would enjoy my take on vintage holiday. It's fun for me to go to my little studio & see what happens! I usually don't have much of a plan about what to make, I just work with whatever happens to be left on my workbench, but primarily it will be holiday focused.

For the figures I create or the dolls I embellish, I like to tell you who they are. The little vintage dolls were once someone elses little treasure, and I think about the person that owned them years ago. What kind of life did they go on to lead? What did they do with their time - what made them unique? I am also inspired to write about people I know and love. If you know me, there's probably a doll in my inventory that is "ABOUT" you.

I once read a saying that has stuck with me.... "ART IS A GREAT VACATION"
I would have to agree! If you can't get to the beach, get busy crafting...even if no one ever "gets" what you do, it's a fun way to disconnect and enjoy the pleasure of creating.

I hope you find something while browsing my shop that you will look forward to seeing year after year!

P.S. For the many boxes of sharp tipped crayons, multi colored GIANT marker sets, watercolor boxes, construction paper, calligraphy pens, straw flowers, beads, quilling paper, crochet needles, paint brushes, cross stitch kits, macramé beads...and all the many craft, paint & sewing lessons you paid for - thank you Mom & Dad. You made me feel like my drive to "make something pretty" would be a worthwhile pursuit.
