I love working with polymer clay with its fabulous array of blendable colors, easy workability, and low firing temperature. It’s the perfect medium for a crafter in a small New York apartment, where my kitchen is also “the studio.”
The inspiration for my designs comes from so many sources – places I’ve visited, or want to see someday, a scrap of fabric, an architectural detail, the vibrant colors in a post-impressionist museum masterpiece.
I love playing with texture, as you can see in so many of the items in my Claytheism shop. Given the choice, I prefer rough to smooth – suede to satin, rustic pottery to fine porcelain, hammered tin to a glossy mirror finish. You get the idea.
