Hillery Sawyer's Profile

About

Hello there, Hillery here!
I started my Etsy after selling my hair pieces on the Craft fair scene for a few years, the first place being the Atlanta roller derby back in 2009.
I have always had a fascination for feathers and have always enjoyed collecting them. So naturally when I started exploring new materials to sew and bead with feather came into play.
I don't order any of my feathers from large commercial stocks in fact all of my peacock, ostrich, rooster/chicken, turkey, and goose feathers, and well that's just about everything, come from local and privately owned farms. Recently I have taken to supporting small organic farms through purchasing some of their feathers to use in my pieces. I am very excited to be working with some excellent farmers who's animals are their top priority.

A little blip about the business:
Clever Plumage is owned and operated by the One-Woman-Show - Hillery Sawyer. Hillery specializes in creating environmentally friendly accessories and delightfully delicate hair pieces made with hand-gathered feathers from privately owned farms and aviaries. She enjoys using vintage and repurposed findings and fabrics to accent and embellish the natural and unaltered beauty of the feathers in her pieces which she hand sews herself in her home studio.

There is not usually a delay in shipping from Canada so please do not let this discourage you. (:
