Melinda Hutton's Profile

About

Melinda Hutton is an antique button collector and jewelry maker from Newton, Kansas. Since 1994 she has designed jewelry from antique and collectible buttons, buckles, cufflinks, pieces of vintage costume jewelry and anything else she finds interesting. Each piece she designs is one-of-a-kind, and most of the buttons she uses date from the late 1800's to the early 1900's.

Melinda loves to repurpose items and create future heirlooms from yesterday's treasures. She states that she recycled before recycling was cool!

Melinda is a proud member of the National Button Society, and appreciates the historical value of antique buttons. She uses and restores otherwise overlooked or damaged buttons so they can once again be appreciated for the "little masterpieces" they are.
