About

I grew up surrounded by vintage items -- didn't know it at the time. It was just our stuff. We "reused and recycled" the heck out of everything. My mom darned socks. Dad was always soldering something. Grandpa made firelogs out of old newspapers.
I love living with things that belonged to my ancestors. It's a way to connect to realtives I never met and know only through family lore. Furniture, tintypes, gowns, jewelry -- just things. But when you know the person connected to the item, the two become entwined. It's Aunt Gertrude's sewing machine, Uncle Dean's second wife's ring, Mom's wedding gown. No longer just things, but a precious family history.
