Welcome to Stormy Banyan! Thank you so much for stopping in! I hope you have fun exploring the unique and simple grunge and rock n roll inspired accessories for musicians and musician lovers. I believe you deserve to know my inspirations for your possible new favourite obsession, I invite you to read about my inspirations and have a look into my items stories.

I am often told I was born in the wrong decade. I was born in '97 and I am obsessive over the 50s, 70s, and 90s admittedly for the music and cultural simplicity. I became addicted to Rock N Roll after hearing Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N Roses when I was about 8 years old. I started playing guitar when I was about 12 and found what I am supposed to do with this beautiful life I've been given- create. I have been consumed by songwriting and constantly creating ever since I discovered guitar. I have been captivated by leather goods for as long as I can remember, but I always sought after the thought that I could be creating my own unique leather pieces.

It was here on Etsy where I was inspired to do so and was given the guidance I needed to get up and running with producing my own creations. I have been helplessly in love with creating leather works specialized for, but not limited to, musicians since I first started in April of 2012. I am working to design my own functional products that have a Rock N Roll/ Grunge feel threaded into them. My leather creations are geared toward musicians who love simple and unique ways to functionally carry their extras and show their love of music. Being a music junkie myself, I take a lot of my inspiration from music figures and their mood and sound. I try to do my favourite era justice and assure that every item in my store can easily mold into the owners style and personality to become a staple of their every day life.

And being a guitarist, of course I have a slight obsession over guitar picks so I am also offering custom, hand shaped abalone guitar picks! I was first introduced to carving these pieces with my Italian grandfather who comes from a long line of fishermen and has a large supply of abalone shells as a result. He taught me tenderly how to carve but soon left me on my own in the back room of his garage workshop with a gem polisher and a few roughly cut squares of abalone shell. I remained there for two hours working on my first abalone guitar pick drafted after my favourite Dunlop pick I carried around with me. When I had finished, my papa came down to see my work. He said to me, "Wow! You're a natural! That one is so nice you have to keep it for yourself!" This has remained what he has said to me every time I have finished a pick- “Better keep that one for yourself!” Well I have been doing this for a while and I simply have too many guitar picks for myself to know what to do with. I have decided to start offering custom California abalone guitar picks exclusively to the buyers here on Etsy! I have both pre-made options and the option to collaborate and design your own pick shape available to fulfill all of your abalone guitar pick needs!

Stormy Banyan is a place to find musicians' and musician lovers' favourite accessories that not only offer functionality and style, but also a sense ones own personality, knowing your unique item is the only one like it. My passion to yours. Rock N Roll Never Looked So Good.
