Lynn Culp's Profile
I began painting dogs in late 2006 and within a few months developed my style of using a red underpainting with the outline. Since then I have painted hundreds of dogs (cats and horses too).
For years I had painted in oils, mostly from life (landscapes, still life, portraits - see my other etsy shop at lynnbabette). To try something new, I began painting dogs using acrylic paints and almost painting one per day for the first couple of years. What attracted me to dogs were their variety of colors, expressions and breeds (although I had no clue at the time there were so many!).
Now I am well versed with my dog breeds and how to handle the acrylics. I work from photos I've taken during outdoor art shows and at local AKC shows. One reason I don't have too many cat paintings offered is my limited cat photo archive…
