Rachel Tournay's Profile

About

I guess I can say I come by it honestly. I grew up under a sewing machine. My mum was quite the seamstress and for the first few years of my life, she worked from home as that. She could make anything, from hand puppets to bridesmaid dresses, and did it all. When she taught me to thread the machine I was hooked. By the time I was 8, I was making clothes for my friends (and they actually wore them!)
While attending the Ontario College of Art and Design, I found myself doing more on the sewing machine than in my sketch book, and ended up selling my clothes to some stores around the city. Enter a move, a baby, and several other major changes and I've ended up here, doing what I love while I try to make it all work.
