About

I am originally a country girl, born and raised in Lander, Wyoming. I'm still a country girl at heart but have lived in the Seattle area for almost 25 years.
My love of stones and pretty glass began at a very early age. My mom used to love to tell the story of how when I was very young I gathered rocks out of our back alley and took them around the neighborhood trying to sell them.
I love dabbling in all kinds of jewelry making from off loom weaving to wire wrapping to polymer and precious metal clay.
I get my inspiration from everywhere and anywhere I can. When I can't seem to come up with anything I'll look at nature seeing the colors that look beautiful together like a tree with dark dark brown bark and beautiful lavender flowers and go from there.
Sometimes I just stare at my beads and stones and a design will just come to me.

I also have been trying my hand at reconstructing garments from thrift store finds, one of my ways of recycling and helping the earth. I have vowed not to buy any new clothing unless it's absolutly necessary (or it's an undergarment!). It's been a great new experience and is like a treasure hunt looking for old laces and trims and buttons and such.
I have colloraborated with Joan Tucker from Off Center Productions, and have had some of these pieces actually published in popular beading magazines. Two of these collaborations have also been published in the 2009 Bead a Day Calendar.
Joan is an amazing artist and woman, and I have loved working with her.
I also teach beading classes at a beautiful bead shop in Mountlake Terrace Wa. called Red Garnet Beads and Buttons.
I have two beautiful children and two beautiful grandsons.
I am very blessed.
