Matthew Adams' Profile
All of my projects have their genesis in my hoard of materials. Delving into stacks of hardwoods, carefully tanned leathers, fine papers and metal kindles my imagination and sets me to my labors.
Drawing on the designs and techniques of traditional metalworking, joinery and bookbinding I create objects of beauty, utility and artistry.
I deliberately choose materials and techniques that will withstand the test of time. Coptic binding, Pre-industrial iron-working techniques and archival papers made by hand all contribute to the durability of my work. These techniques are labor intensive and require a meticulous eye to detail.
