Dolores Pargana's Profile

About

Welcome to my store!

My name is Dolores and I was born in Lisbon, Portugal. I was married by proxy when I was a young girl of barely 20. "by proxy" means that I was still in Portugal but my fiancé was in Canada where he had emigrated the previous year. I followed him to Canada 6 months later. Raised two beautiful girls, went to College in my late thirties, worked as a Systems Programmer Analyst for about 20 years, and retired at 58 due to illness.

After my battle with breast cancer and related surgery, I decided to not go back to the stress of my job. I needed something to keep me busy and decided to visit a bead store nearby. Later on, I turned my hobby into a small business.

I love working with small glass beads and create one of a kind items using different ancient weaving stitches. Every piece is different. I also string necklaces and bracelets on strong beading wire, with semiprecious stones, fresh water pearls, crystals, and glass beads. Learned how to bead crochet with wire and with thread. I am always trying to learn new ways to create beautiful jewellery pieces.

I am a member of the Toronto Bead Society.

Visit my shop often and you'll be sure to find something you love.

Thank you.
