Hello! Thank you for visiting Knittingtopia!

Knittingtopia was born out of a love, no, a passion for yarn craft. I was taught how to knit over 30 years ago by my mother who, was in turn, taught by her mother. All of my four Aunts also knit so there was no escaping it even if I had wanted to. I was around 4 years old and I can still remember the yellow scarf I made for my teddy using these horrible blue plastic needles that tended to bend under my extremely tight tension. The scarf ended up having a hole in it where I had gone wrong so I cut it out!

Over the years of knitting, and later, crocheting everyday (yes, I'm addicted!) my skills have vastly improved.

Even to this day I still find it amazing that what is effectively, 2 sticks and a ball of string, can be turned into the simplest of items like an iPod case to the most intricate adult wear and blankets.

So why buy handmade? Well you could probably find jumpers, blankets etc. a lot cheaper in the high street stores but who wants the same as everybody else? Buy from those shops and all you do is line the 'fat cats' pocket with even more money. Buy from a small business like ours and you're not helping someone become a multi millionaire, you're helping to keep food on the table, warmth in the winter months, a roof over a families heads. It's more about the personal touch and that is exactly what you will receive if you purchase from here.

Most of our items take many, many hours to make, some even take weeks. These items are not made out of greed for money, they are made out of a passion for the craft and to give our customers a quality made item that you will not find on the high street. Our prices reflect the materials used, time taken and complexity of the item but still kept to a reasonable level.

Custom orders are always welcomed. Perhaps we are selling a blue jumper but you want it in red? This is not a problem. Some of our items can be made in different sizes too. We look forward to receiving your message so we can discuss your requirements.

Hope you enjoy browsing Knittingtopia.
