About

The last year has been a hectic rat race like no other. I have been remodeling my house to make up for the previous owner's lack of maintenance and working on stuff for my wedding. In the middle of all that I managed to screw up a disc between my shoulder blades which caused my left arm to go numb. Hard to make pots when you cant feel your hand much less the clay. House work is still going on and will never end. Back is on the mend and feeling good. Wedding happened and went well. Now its time to make pots and work on being married. Both are going well and I will be listing new items soon!

Creative and Strange were the most fitting words used to describe my work and I decided it would be a perfect name.

Located in Helena, Montana I enjoy creating items that make you take pause and really investigate what it is you are looking at or even better come back and study what it is you see. This has always been my most favorite thing about showing/selling my work, seeing people's reactions. However I am not a hugely social creature so I rarely engage in public sales. I do love to hear what people have to say and really enjoy talking about the process of making the items but really fall short on desire to pack up, display, sit in the sun or worse rain and wind, packing back up to do it again the fallowing weekend. So BEHOLD! My Etsy page.
My name is Steve Plettenberg and I have been creating things with clay for around 10 years.
Lately I have been focusing on wheel thrown tableware but will be adding more hand built items soon. I find great joy in drinking tea, drinking beer, and creating things with clay so more often than not I will be combining these three loves and listing lots of drinking vessels.

I hope you enjoy my pots and I appreciate your interest. Feel free to shoot me a line for either business or pleasure. I have some past work shown at bishopmaple.deviantArt.com and can send you a link if you would like to see more of my work to get an idea of what you will see here in the future.

All of my work is food safe unless otherwise specified. Most of it is cone 10, gas fired or salt fired stoneware.
