Ciao. Benvenuto!
Hello and welcome...welcome to my little oasis in the Etsy community.

How did I get here, you asked??? A little about me.

It all started with a blanket. I was throwing a baby shower and wanted a unique gift that matched the color scheme of the party and the mother-to-be's favorite item...a bright orange stroller. Next came sewing classes. The result... I found my true self!

Growing up I would sketch clothes all the time, but also had a passion for helping others thanks to my mother who is a selfless social worker. I chose to pursue the latter and have spent my life in non-profit fundraising. I truly love working in nonprofits but I am ready to start a family and be the real me. Pursuing my passion will allow me to be a better wife, mother and overall person. I find that…

I find that my capacity to help others grows as I use my creativity each and every day. My perspective on life is changing as I am growing. This shift in perspective truly started on my honeymoon to Italy. I was blessed to have the ability to travel abroad; it was my first time and shook me to my core. The people, culture and deep-seeded passion for life was contagious.

Cucire simply means "to sew" in Italian. I believed I needed to pay tribute to when my shift in perspective began. The spirit of family, tradition and celebration throughout Italy was unlike anything I had experienced. It is at the core of why I sew. My passion is to create unique items given from the heart and celebrated. I have come to realize the pleasure of giving and receiving items made to suit a special person or a special moment in one's life. I hope that the items I make will be a perfect fit to pay tribute to a bride, mother-to-be, baby, wife, mother, sister or house on its journey to becoming a home. Each item is made with love and dedication in the hope it brings a smile and creates a memory for someone else at a special time.

What makes your items unique? Thanks for asking!

I have a HUGE love of fabric. Honestly, I only use what speaks to me. It's the only way I can work. Texture and prints are the most important. You will find a mix of styles because I am a mixed bag. Preppy, retro, pretty, vintage, traditional...I love it all! This is my outlet so hopefully you will find something to fit your style or your loved one's style.

In the beginning I had planned on offering items sewn by me only. Recently I expanded offerings by purchasing an embroidery machine, so in addition to handmade pieces I will also offer a few items that simply have a personal embroidered touch. Creating my own items is my focus, but I love the endless embroidery options and don't want to pass anything up!

As I continue to grow, so will my offerings. I hope you continually stop back at my store to see what's new!

Grazie,
Andrea Rae
