About

hi everyone,

tiny bit about me:

i went to a very technical school for goldsmiths and watchmakers in germany (goldschmiede mit uhrmacherschule pforzheim) mid to late 80's, but never touched a tool after school or had any interest in actually working in or around the "jewelry business."
that is, until i found a beautiful piece of sea glass on a beach in elk in september of 2007. Ever since, i've been obsessed with spending my weekends driving up and down the pacific coast to locate beaches where i can find those little treasures. it's the most quiet, peaceful and meditative thing ever, and no matter what's going on in my life, that is the one thing that recharges my batteries instantly.

About

hi everyone,

tiny bit about me:

i went to a very technical school for goldsmiths and watchmakers in germany (goldschmiede mit uhrmacherschule pforzheim) mid to late 80's, but never touched a tool after school or had any interest in actually working in or around the "jewelry business."
that is, until i found a beautiful piece of sea glass on a beach in elk in september of 2007. Ever since, i've been obsessed with spending my weekends driving up and down the pacific coast to locate beaches where i can find those little treasures. it's the most quiet, peaceful and meditative thing ever, and no matter what's going on in my life, that is the one thing that recharges my batteries instantly.
after having collected quite a few bags full of sea glass, i was wondering what to do with all of it - after all, what good is it just sitting there in drawers.
i spent about a year on getting the basic tools and accessories i needed to start working on some jewelry, and i've had the most fun, finally being able to muck around in my workshop, trying to create some beautiful (of course, opinions differ) pieces. kind of makes me feel better to know that the time i spent in school wasn't a waste after all!
it is just a hobby, though. i do work full time and my time to work on jewelry is limited to evenings and weekends.
but, i'll be updating it frequently, so please keep checking in to see new pieces and designs.
thanks for taking the time to look!
D.
