I had a child in an out-of-state university!!! Fortunately, she graduated in 2010 (Go Dawgs!) and now has a full-time job in her field of study. How lucky are we?!!!!

But there are still those pesky student loans to pay off. Forget the two wage-earner family....I need to be the multi-wage-earner mother!

Fortunately, I have a fabulous friend, a fantastic fiber artist who loves teaching and working with children. Together we have worked for many years at a children's summer camp in North Carolina. Over the years, she has shared her love of many artistic endeavors with me (glass beaded bracelets, basketmaking etc.) to the detriment of my pocketbook and nocturnal rest. But I am most thankful to her for sharing the art of Shibori with me. She has really gotten me hooked on Shibori hand-dyed scarves!…

I really love hand dying fabric, and silk scarves are so much fun to work with. The dye and the silk make such glorious color combinations. You never know what you will get - each scarf is like opening a gift on Christmas morning - sometimes there are wonderful surprises!

I hope you will love my scarves as much as I love creating them!

I really dread to go back to camp each year.......I don't know how many more arts & crafts I can afford to fall in love with....although I would love to learn how to do fabric-wrapped coil baskets, and then there's.......You see the problem?!

So much fun....so little time!

Now if I can just have to pay off all those student loans!
