About

I love color and playing with fiber. Dyeing sock yarns allows me to indulge these loves and share them with buyers. Everything in my shop is hand dyed by me.

I currently offer three types of yarn:

Sturdy Sheep is a blend of 75% superwash merino wool and 25% nylon. This yarn is fingering weight, 4-ply, firmly spun, and has a lovely sheen. It knits with beautiful stitch definition, is marvelously soft to the touch, and is very hard-wearing, perfect for socks! It is also great for baby garments, as it can be machine washed.

Sterling Yarn is spun by Kraemer and is a unique blend of 63% Superwash Merino wool, 20% silk, 15% nylon, and 2% silver. It is a glittery yet soft three-ply fingering weight yarn to make into special occasion socks or spectacular scarves…

Silky Lacy Sheep is a two-ply lace weight yarn spun from 50% silk and 50% Merino wool. It knits into fabulous, feather light scarves or shawls.

I use professional quality acid dyes on the wool and soda ash dyes on some of the bamboo. The acid dyes are set by steam or simmered in a dye pot, and the soda ash dyes are batched overnight. All work is done in a smoke-free, pet-free home.
