Phyllis Smith's Profile
If it's fibrous and can be manipulated with sewing and knitting, then I want to work with it. I learned how to sew when I was 10, as a summer pastime to fight the boredom that plagues all kids. I learned how to knit when I was 19, as a general pastime to combat the boredom that stalks all young adults. How was I to know then that these skills would define my life and serve as an important connection to others in this world. I best love to portray people and animals on wall hangings, cuddly blankets, clothing and accessories. My fiber artistry is meant to tug at your heart strings and speak to your very soul.
