About

Hello
My pottery is incredibly important to me. I love the feeling of clay and how it can be shaped and manipulated. To me the whole of experience is intensely tactile.

I hand build my pots using white earthenware clay, with just a few glazes. Inspired by the Korean 'Moon Jars' I have developed my own interpretation using partial glazing and smoke firing to create a lunar effect. This has further developed into 'Earth Jars' using a blue / green / white palate of glazes.

My 'Pail' range is based upon the Japanese water pail or 'Mizu baketsu'. Each Pail is unique - although based on the same overall shape, there are subtle differences between each one - height, colour, smoke-firing effect. The wooden handles also give an original touch to each Pail.
