About

A little about me...I am a foster home for shelter kittens too young, underweight or unsocialized for adoption through the "Cold Noses, Warm Hearts" Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (501(c)3) foster program. With my own 4 cats & a constantly rotating batch of foster kittens, most of my ideas come from observing what they are intuitively are attracted to. The proceeds from my creations (as humble as they may be) go directly to subsidizing foster kitty care in my home. The FACF provides food, toys, kennels, etc. for foster homes if we need it, but the more I can provide those supplies directly, the LESS the shelter needs to provide my home. This results in more resources & funding to go around for more animals in need. Bonus!

The "Educate, Don't Amputate!" movement is also something I am passionate about. Please don't amputate your feline's fingers to save your material…

My creations are a great way to positively re-direct your cat's natural desire to scratch AWAY from your furniture and onto their new scratching post toy.

RE: any legitimate concerns that owning a scratching post in the form of a human (in whole or in part) will somehow train your cats to scratch and attack actual human beings:

Okay okay, it's an amusing mental image and might make a good parody sketch topic, but your cat doesn't personify the mannequin like we humans do. The mannequin scratching posts don't smell like a human, they don't move like a human, they don't sound like a human and they don't taste like a human. Cats are attracted to scratching against sisal rope because of its texture and real humans are never going to feel like sisal rope. The artistic irony of the mannequin BEING a scratching post is enjoyed only by humans. As far as cats are concerned, its just a very large scratching post to play on and make their own. Don't worry, you're not going to train your cats to scratch actual humans.
