About

I live in Cornwall in the southwest of England. From a very early age I was happiest when making things. Fortunately, I had excellent arts and crafts teachers who helped steer me to this glorious road called 'creativity'. Knitting, writing poetry, photography, cooking etc. are some of my favourite hobbies but the bead work is very special to me. The fabulous handmade glass beads created by those talented lampwork artisans are my passion but there are so many types of beads it is impossible to list all my favourites. I like to think I create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that in 10 years time will still give the same pleasure as when they were first purchased.

My inspiration comes mostly from my everyday surroundings here in Cornwall. The rugged granite rocks and crashing waves, the brightly painted boats that lie in the harour, our traditions and myths of mermaids and the Nine Maidens....the list is very long. You might ask how my shop banner can be connected with making jewellery and I would reply the colour combinations, lines and textures that nature so freely offers are a constant source of pleasure and inspiration and the banner is my way of saying 'thank you' in return.

For a few years I have been selling my jewellery at craft fairs and take delight in 'getting out there' to meet and chat with the people but whenI discovered Etsy I felt it was fantastic concept and a wonderful showcase, so here I am!
