Janet Maier's Profile

About

Hello! Welcome to Delilah's Vintage Deluxe. My name is Janet; I am an unapologetic vintage devotee. I worked in a vintage boutique for almost a decade in my younger days, where I spent most of my earnings on buying the goodies that came in. ( I did make my rent, but sometimes it was a last minute scramble!) But I always looked fetching in my outfits! I left the shop, and got a job at a restaurant. I spent the next 15 years in that crazy bizz. I loved it and hated it all at the same time, a feeling anyone in it will be familiar with. I ended up being a dining room manager at Kingfisher Bar & Grill in Tucson. One of my favorite aspects of that job was getting gussied up in my vintage outfits and channeling Mae West or Bette Davis, depending on the situation. And people loved it! A night never passed where I didn't get a compliment on my outfit, and often on my sassy attitude. So my love of vintage a found a wonderful outlet. I am proud to say I rarely repeated an outfit! Taking a huge leap of faith and leaving everything I knew, ( fired by the realization - after major neurosurgery - that life was too short to waste in a being in a rut,) I left that job and moved to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. As if to reward my efforts, the universe sent me the man of my dreams and I fell in love @ 47 years old. He is a crazy artist/inventor name Dan. We have helped each other toward making our respective working dreams come true: he as being a self-sustaining artist, and me to provide vintage fans with the best and funnest items available. We have 3 dogs & a cat, so life is full of wonder and goofiness.....
