Della Lana's Profile

About

I work in my studio in Amsterdam as a multi disciplinary designer/artist.
I'm inspired by the Japanese tradition of wabi-sabi; pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature, of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay, and death.

My work is exhibited in several musea and galleries in the Netherlands, f.e. at the ZomerExpo in Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, Zomer expo in the Gemeente museum in the Hague, Exhibition Museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Rijksstudio/Etsy exhibition 'Guild of '14', at Gallery 33 in Amsterdam. Please contact me if you'd like to visit.

My prior artistic training and experience comes from a masters in graphic desig at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of fine arts and design in Amsterdam.

I've worked professionally as a graphic designer mainly with architecture and design firms and as a freelance designer.
For the last few years, I've been working as a multidisciplinary artist and designer.
Characteristic of my work is a poetic outlook on life, in which nature and found pictures from everyday life play an important role to look at ourselves and the world we live in from a different perspective.
