Patricia Devine-Corder's Profile

About

When Patsy was a little girl, she always thought she'd be an artist. Instead, she turned to a profession where she learned to appreciate the art of words. As a self-proclaimed jewelryista, Patsy loves to wear colorful jewelry, especially the kind of unique pieces she features in her shop.

Patsy has fallen in love with jewelry because of a neighbor next door when she was a girl. Mrs. Thelma King wore red lipstick and pants in the early 1960s, she was an independent show-stopper that taught a little girl how to have some flair. This fierce and fasionable neighbor inspired Patsy to pursue her art in addition to her love of literature.

As part of this pursuit, Patsy has begun, and hopes to continue, featuring work inspired by the fabulous Mrs. Thelma King on her own Etsy shop. While she may not be a writer of tales in the form of words, she tells many tales with her colorful, vintage-inspired, upcycled and repurposed jewelry. From modern pearl strands of necklaces to taking pins to a whole new level, Patsy hopes that the items in the store match and honor the colorful personality of Mrs. Thelma King.

Patsy works as a children's librarian in Pittsburgh. She loves story time with her little friends, who always compliment her jewelery. (And their parents often echo those compliments) In a perfect world she could stay in her pajamas all day and bead. Patsy has to remind herself to stop crafting on December 24th and go buy the rest of her Christmas gifts.

An Irish woman through-and-though, Patsy loves to showcase her Celtic heritage with knitted items that she hopes to feature in her shop. From baby sweaters, beads, scarves to stained glass, there isn't much she couldn't make.

Patsy specializes in beading, sewing, knitting and stained glass. Feel free to contact her with specific design requests and interests, as she loves to honor the colorful requests and personalities of many like Mrs. Thelma King.
