Dan Grunst's Profile

About

When I lost my job about about 16 years ago I decided on the drive home to be a wood carver. I had never carved anything in my life! I do have a liberal arts degree in painting and printmaking and I certainly believe that has been a benefit to my art.

My style has evolved over the years from having very simple lines, simple detail to being more stylistic, more color and certianly more "lively". Lately my work tends to have a functional side to it, however obscure or simplistic the task that it performs may be. A good example would be the turtles I do, they stand by the front door and simply offer a place to put your keys when you enter your home..

I hope you like my work. Feel free to contact me about ideas you might have.
