About

Ditch Ink was originally started in Montauk, New York, a stones throw from a surf spot of some repute called Ditch, in 2002. Our founder was on the beach watching several beginner surfing enthusiasts, when it occurred to him that surfing etiquette had not- as far as he knew- been put into writing. So he wrote a simple illustrated guide to the basics, printed five thousand copies, called it "Wetiquette", and named the new enterprise Ditch Ink. Next step was to get it out there. And Wetiquette was reprinted in spring 2014 with updates about SUPs and more.

Now we are lucky to call ourselves truely bicoastal. We have a studio in Springs, New York and one in Leucadia, California. Check out everything we do at www.ditchink.com

So that's our story. We'd like to thank all of our early supporters, Doug and Lars at Main Beach, Margaret and crew from Sunrise to Sunset of Southampton, Heidi from Hansen's in Encinitas, Laguna Drug in Laguna Beach, Cardiff Seaside Market, B on Main in Ventura, and many more. If you have a shop and are interested in carrying our line, we'd love to talk. Or if you're wondering where you can get the cards locally, give a call, we'll point you in the right direction. We really appreciate all input and will try to keep the yuks coming. Email us, we'd love to hear from you, and any card ideas will be gratefully considered. If used, we'll give you credit and a Ditch Ink swag bag. Thanks. Heaps. For more info on Peter, check out his page on Facebook/Peter Spacek Art or Facebook/Ditch Ink. And while you're there, become a friend!
