Why buy DivaDea polymer clay jewelry?
Every cane is lovingly built by Alissa Plant and occasionally her sister Robin out of hand-mixed polymer clay colors. Then each necklace, bracelet, pair of earrings or pin is painstakingly designed and constructed by Alissa to be a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. Many DivaDea necklaces and bracelets are made in comfortable lengths for plus-sized women. Many pieces can be adjusted to a different size, so please don’t hesitate to ask.

What do you mean the canes are built? What’s a cane?
To make a cane, I first choose and hand-mix colors of polymer clay. Then I use pieces of the clay to “build” a cylindrical picture or pattern. Canes range in size from as small around as a finger to as large as a dinner plate, although mine tend to be on the smaller side. Once the pattern is completed, the cane is reduced by rolling and stretching to the appropriate diameter(s) for beads, pendants, buttons, or just slices to lay on another item (like a photo frame). Finally, the cane is sliced, and the resulting beads, buttons, etc. are baked in their own dedicated oven and turned into polymer clay creations of wearable art and unique housewares.

How do I take care of polymer clay pieces? Are they fragile?
Polymer clay jewelry and other items can be washed gently using mild soap and warm water. I recommend hand-washing clothing items that have polymer clay buttons or other embellishments. Some items may be fragile – handle with care.
