I drifted back to my childhood, where there existed a "special world" in Nana's backyard. A rock garden, that seemed its only purpose being to fill an unfriendly space next to the garage, intrigued me the most. The variety of strange-looking, low-growing plants arranged themselves around the rocks in a way that created what looked like a little village with tiny houses. Vines and roots weaved their tangled way in and around each, making the environment look surreal. I've thought of Nana's special world many times since and tried to imagine how I would turn my childhood memories into a special world that I could share with you.

The creation of each spirited-dwelling that is made, begins with a fallen branch, tree stump or piece of carefully-chosen driftwood collected by a happy wanderer. It is then, pains-takingly constructed into a mystical abode for wood sprites or faeries.
