About

After 30+ years as a legal assistant, plus 8 more as a Realtor, I was forced to leave my full-time work in order to be caregiver to my mother and another relative. Accepting this as a blessing, I began to write as therapy for my mind and creating artful pieces.

However, realistically, I knew I had to find something I could do from home to earn a fairly decent living. Tapping into my creative mind, I could think of nothing.

Then, on the eve of Mother's Day, 2010, I went into a panic when I realized I had no gift for my mother. At the midnight hour, I was digging around in the garage through old craft projects, trinkets and a bag of dusty, musty silk flowers.

With no money - and I mean I was more broke than the Liberty Bell - I decided to make her a corsage to wear to church on Mother's Day. It was a hit! Several people asked me to make them one, and the rest is history.

While all of my materials are recycled items I "find," please know, I strive to make my hair fascinators and corsages as realistic as I can.

In 2012, I added Vintage Miniature Shoes (Highly Collectible and Adorable) as well as Belly Dance Bras (found in the shop section, Anastasia's Tent).

And finally now, in 2014 I returned to my original roots as an artist; painting and drawing things that stir me ... that make others think and feel. This is the perfect place for me to share my work with - At 61, I am a simple folk artist - making my way through time and beauty. My fine art paintings and drawings can be found in my alternate Etsy Shop, "StaceyTorresART."
