I’m Luísa Martins, a product design graduate who, by lack of a better job, was a sales assistant in a concept design store in Lisbon where you could buy everything from designer furniture to author jewelery.

One day, feeling sad about myself for not being able to get a position in some nice design studio, I came up with this thought “Why am I selling the products of other designers? I should be selling my own!”. And then came the wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee-thought “Ok, I don’t have much money for materials, but I can create something interesting, witty, with… for example… a button! That’s what I was trained for: to create a lot with just a few – less is more!”.

Do Not Push My Buttons! is a solo project. Everything is made by me – the products, the choice of materials, the photos, the packaging, the blog, the sewing, the selling, you name it, are my responsibility. It has been like that for the past 6 years, and they have been 6 fantastic years since I figured this: I CAN DO IT MYSELF!
