Doris Summers' Profile

About

I have purchased some of my teacher's table runners and placemats. Doris Blaser is a 90 year old weaver from West Kentucky.

I love working in the colorful fabric. Some of my fabrics are from the 1950's and 1960's. Each rug or scarf is hand woven to be one of a kind.
I began weaving baskets about 1984. My favorite historic basket to weave is the Appalachian Egg Basket. No two are alike. In 2013, I took a rug weaving class and purchased a floor loom. My teacher gifted me with an antique tabletop loom which I use to weave my scarves.I was certified in Clinical Aromatherapy in 2006 and became a Reiki Master in 2004. I make these soaps and salve in small batches using therapeutic grade essential oils and organically grown herbs. . I have created these recipes to be good for your skin.
