Art is a part of my everyday life, I make space to create daily and to explore the elements of – color, shape, line and texture.  I find that I am inspired by the past and I pull elements from vintage ephemera in combination with line, pattern and scale together with contemporary colors and compositions to create a harmonious conversation between yesterday and today.  I look at colors, shapes and textures in the world as well: the roots of trees as they twist over the dry earth, weathered wood turned grey by the cold Indiana winters and hot humid summers, cracked sidewalks with tiny flowering weeds breaking through, graffitied walls and signs altered by unseen human hands. I believe art and nature have the power to heal, there is beauty all around and we only need to stop and look to see the wonder and find inspiration.
