About

The Duckpond Pottery is run by Husband and Wife team Nick Friedman and Jennifer Kelly. We have been making and selling pottery together since meeting up at the University of Florida back in the early 1990's. Our shop relocated to Brevard, North Carolina in 1999 and it is our home to this day. Because we try to create as interesting a store as possible, the scope of our work tends to be pretty broad. As seen in our Etsy store, we work with both earthenware and stoneware. The earthenware is made from a blend of clays and has a characteristic wood grain look. We tend to work in a production rhythm with the earthenware. We work with stoneware for more one of a kind functional pieces, figure sculptures, and architectural tile work.

Our Etsy offers just a sampling of the items we make and offer at our gallery. Please feel free to initiate a conversation with us to inquire…

We are happy to send you photos of what's new at the shop and to create a slot to purchase whatever you desire here on our Etsy.

We have a mission of sorts to make our shop a center for artistic creativity as well as a hub for community in the town of Brevard. In this light we have made the shop a venue for live original music, independent film, and a meeting place for community projects. Much of the action that takes place at Duckpond can be caught on our Video Blog (Vlog) thebeerrun coming to the net this winter or check out our Concert Series site at
Myspace: myspace.com/duckpondatdusk

We host a summer concert series called Duckpond at Dusk which features some of the finest musicians to be found in this part of the country.
