Mary Ann Eissa's Profile

About

Hi, my name is Mary Ann Eissa. I've always been involved in creative endeavors but came to jewelry design in 2004 when I moved to Los Angeles from New York.
My Mother suffered from Alzheimer's disease and my brother and I decided we wanted to take care of her at our family home in Los Angeles. I packed up my "life", my dog and 2 cats left New York to start our new life. Because caring for my Mom prevented me from having a full-time job I started making jewelry from my home and opened my first Etsy shop, "Eissa" which contains pieces made from gemstones and vintage elements. Now, two years later I've opened "Eissasmetalwear" which contains pieces fabricated utilizing metal smithing techniques. I've now decided to merge my two shops into one. Both decisions have enhanced my life immeasurably. My Mom passed away on September 3, 2011. She was so easy to take care of and it was a gift to be able to do so.
Making jewelry has reawakened my creative spirit and it's been wonderful and rewarding. My greatest pleasure is when someone tells me how many compliments they get when they wear one of my pieces.
I'm presently selling at two galleries in Los Angeles. I'm excited to announce that many of my pieces have been worn on TV shows like Harry's Law, Grey's Anatomy, Mad Love and a new show starring Kristen Johnston debuting this season.
