About

I am a retired interior designer living and enjoying life in Coos Bay after moving from Southern California eleven years ago. I got in to blogging and mixed media art through my daughter in law. I started trading ATC's (Artist Trading Cards 3.5 " x 2.5" piece of art) with all sorts of people from all around the world. I literally have 7 small ATC albums full of ATC's. Then I discovered blogging and saw that some of the blogs were art blogs i.e., ZNE and Digital Whisper. I joined, just to see if I could learn more about mixed media but then I discovered Digital Art and I was hooked.

I yearned for the chance to learn this technique. With Digital Whispers group "Learning Techniques", I learned so much from some of the helpful members there but then, there was that silly little program called Photoshop that I needed in order to start learning how to create a digital collage.

Luckily, I had a computer geek friend that had Photoshop CS 5 complete and he installed it for me.! Okay, what now? I searched everywhere I could for information on how to use Photoshop. I didn't even know how to bring a photo in to the program, let alone work with it. I knew nothing, except what I had seen and read. I wanted mostly to learn how to "make that image transparent, like you could see through it".

It took me an entire year to learn my way around Photoshop.I still didn't know how to make that image look transparent. Then one of my friends from my Etsy Team O.C.E.A.N. offered to show me. She sat with me and gave me ONE hands on lesson on how to change the opacity on an image and I had acquired a Photoshop tutorial on layers compliments of one of my blogging buddies. That was it! That was all I needed to proceed, to practice and join challenges on Digital Whisper and I was on my way.

After 7 years I am now a self taught digital artist and I recently created a digital art blog called Digital Whisper.

In the past few years Scrapbook and Journal Pages have become very popular and I noticed that many artist were using "Kits" full of elements to scrapbook or make journal pages so to keep up with this popular phase, my design team decided to make our own Elegant Kits. They are like no one else has. They are made for the digital artist that wants to create digitally but just doesn't know where to start or for the experienced artist that needs images, elements, collage sheets, brushes, overlays, quotes or backgrounds that are unique and unusual.

So that is where Elegant Whispers evolved from. My wish is to see artists new to the digital collage world use my Elegant Whisper kits and grow their digital art with the creativity that is yearning like mine was, to create a masterpiece.

Elegant Whispers also has some of our featured artists work available here.
So browse around, take you time and happy creating!
