When I was 7 years old, we lived in Granada, Spain in an old house that had wonderful Moroccan architecture and had one of the tunnels that had originally been used to sneak provisions into the Alhambra during the siege. The owner of the home was a famous jewelry designer in Spain, and I used to sit quietly for hours watching her create. She would let me play with little scraps and make things of my own.
Now 30 years and many years of metalsmithing later, I have realized the dream of opening my own studio. The uniqueness to my jewelry comes from selecting each stone personally, or even cutting them myself from slabs, and then creating a design using handmade findings and metal accents to build a piece of jewelry that is a work of art.
