Elizabeth Purvis' Profile

About

I've been creating cloth dolls for about 20 years. All of my patterns are original designs. Most of the dolls are crafted from muslin. After stitching, stuffing and assembling, I paint the figure with a coat of gesso and paint with acrylics. This technique gives the piece a different look and feel from the traditional soft sculpture. I also use fabric dyes and commercial fabrics on some pieces. I love to experiment with different methods and ideas and am always looking out for new techniques. I've sold my work at festivals in the Seattle area and at galleries in Oregon, California, Idaho and Brooklyn, NY. I'm very excited about the opportunities working with Etsy.
