Ellen Armstrong's Profile
After 36 years of teaching, I am retired. I taught 26 years in Oklahoma and 10 here in Texas. I never thought I could leave teaching, until I last year when I taught in a charter school in Oak Cliff. I am sure there are some very good charter schools, but this was not one of them. Enough for my opinions about education. I know this was God's way of helping me let go of teaching.
My husband and I moved to our "Bucket Home" just outside of Bonham last May. We picked Bonham because it is halfway between our grandchildren, 2 in Ada, Oklahoma and 1 and 1 one the way in Midlothian, Texas.
I have always loved doing many different types of crafts. I have made jewelry, painted, quilted, crocheted, knitted, and made soaps and lotions. For now I am focusing on making punchneedle and rug hooking pictures, pillows, and pins. My sister-in-law introduced me to this craft, and I was "hooked."
