My first experiences with wood were building fences and barns as a child on the family farm. I gathered the leftover pieces (there is no such thing as scrap) and nailed them together. Eventually I made a few shelves and picture frames.
In 2000, I began studying at Marc Adams School of Woodworking and I achieved the title Master Woodworker in 2007.
A continual desire to practice actually gave me the opportunity to discover the beauty of wood that gets overlooked and left behind. Trees cut in residential areas or by utility companies, lumber offcuts, and salvage lumber was readily available to develop my skills.
The beauty of this wood quickly transformed my desire to shape it into a passion to read the grain and let it shape itself.
