About

Having always had an interest in art, starting at an early age making comic book characters out of friends while in grade school. Later I tried my hand at actually making comic books with friends while taking advanced art classes both inside and out of school. I got my real taste of creativity in an Art magnet High School, being exposed to a multitude of mediums from photography, painting with oils, watercolor, and acrylics, to painting on silks and anything else I could put down my vivid imagination. After a 4 yr career in the USMC, I still continued to draw anything from work related pieces to more "street sketch" art.

Out of the military I enrolled in the Art Institute of Dallas and received an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in the computer animation and graphics program. There I honed my skills with everything from caricature and cartooning, 2D art with motion, to life drawing with charcoals and pastels. Forming with a small group of friends, we pushed the boundaries both in and out of school creatively. The school still uses some of our work as examples today. I found the computer wasn't my true calling, so I went back to basics using pens, pencils, charcoal, paintbrushes, my own two hands working over a blank canvas getting dirty.

Although I do have plenty of schooling to fine tune my art, a majority of it comes from my own exploration of self expression. Having a "Jack of all trades" resume, being exposed to many of lifes experiences and places around the world have helped me to materialize human emotion. From comics as a child, the high scool years, my time and travels in the military, DJing locally at nightclubs and parties through college, even as a firefighter and paramedic.

My main goal is create, anything. Cities, landscapes, nature, people, abstract, anything that we see daily in our lives could be translated into an artistic medium and transformed into something creative. I take examples from the internet, social outings, simple walks around the mall or people watching, even my own backyard and neighborhood. There is the way most people see things, and then how an artists sees it.

In short, I take my imagination, my mind, my perception, my interpretation, and put it on display.
