I love to use my hands. One of my early memories is my Dad giving me a bucket of bent nails and teaching me how to hammer them straight again to be reused. He taught me that you can make anything you need instead of buying it, and most times from materials that are otherwise being thrown away. As I got a bit older, my Stepfather taught me how things work--from electrical wiring, to plumbing, to car repair...
I took all of this knowledge into my pursuit of Sculpture. I attended the Claremont Colleges in California and during this time fell absolutely in love with metals! Steel was my first love, but if I could weld it I would! My sculpture Professor, Norm, taught me so many things!
