Erin Shevling's Profile
I am having the best mid-Iife crisis ever. I quit my job, moved, and decided to see what I could really do as a potter. I have been working in clay for over ten years and doing the rest much longer than that.. I enjoy making work that is functional yet reflects natural elements.
I currently work from my studio in my home. I make my own glazes and love the possibilities that opens. While my work usually starts with the wheel, it often does not end there. If I'm not pushing the clay too far and ruining some pieces in the process, I'm not testing the limits.
I use handmade ceramic pieces in my daily life; some were made by me, some by friends, and some by artists I admire. I love the connection to other artists and the historical connection that pottery uniquely has.
Whenever possible, I re-use and recycle shipping…
