My background in jewelry making started when I was 5 and my grandma brought me a couple strands of beads from her trip to Hong Kong. Fast forward 21 years, and I was 26 years old and getting married. I have always loved making things myself, so I created necklaces for my bridesmaids to wear on my big day. Thus started my journey in jewelry making. I did a number of craft shows, selling my brass charmed jewelry before I decided I wanted to learn how to truly make jewelry from scratch. I found the Craft Guild here in Dallas, signed up for my first metalsmithing class and got hooked. Most of what I do, I learned from the Craft Guild. I've also been fortunate enough to take classes at Arrowmont in Tennessee, as well as at Penland in North Carolina. And my background as an art director in advertising has also greatly influenced my work.
