About

I've been a creative person for as long as I can remember. As a child I loved to draw and build and make. My parents and grandparents taught me to make do with what I had, which is now popularly referred to as upcycling and repurposing. There isn't anything like poverty to inspire creative thought.

I've worked in creative fields since my enlistment in the U.S. Army as an 81E (Illustrator) shortly after high school graduation. I earned a degree in Studio Art/Art Education and taught art for several years. I have since been employed as a graphic designer. I have nearly 30 years of professional creative experience.

I love music as much as I love art and play several instruments including guitar, mandolin, violin and viola and am working on learning tin whistle, concertina, banjo and dobro. I've played music around campfires…

I've played music around campfires and with a bluegrass band, but mostly for my own enjoyment. Like art, I have to do it, it is just who I am.

My craft work is a compulsion just like my music. I want to try everything and learn as much as I can. I love to create! For that reason, I will never be bored. I am excited and inspired by everything around me. My wide range of interests make it impossible to remain true to one craft. Some might say that I lack focus, and that is probably true. I don't really care. I make what I love and I am happy.

Since you are visiting, I know you have a love for creativity and creating, like I do. Etsy is such a wonderful community full of ideas, dreams and talented artisans, who happen to be wonderful people too.

I hope you will enjoy your visit to my little Etsy corner. If I could, I'd offer you coffee and peanut butter cookies and we could spend the afternoon making music or beading bracelets . I do hope you'll stop by again soon.

I am excited to be setting up a new shop offering digital collage sheets. You can check out my progress here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/IttyPix
