Welcome to the Faceless World.

Each creature represents a type of personality I've witnessed. There are so many amazing, confusing, wonderful, and horrible interactions going on around us every day. Most of them go unnoticed. I'm creating the Faceless World (and the story that will go with it) to help make sense of the beautiful chaos.

I use primarily India ink in my work because it has such bold contrasts, and is very sharp. I used to use charcoal but it smudged EVERYWHERE and couldn't hold the image. I highly recommend trying it out if you want a bold, distinctive image. Each image starts out as a sketch; heavy erased, edited, and poured over. Then I draw in the lines with pen and ink.

Sometimes during this process, ink drips on the page. To fix these mistakes I use white india ink. It's not perfect, but better than having large black spots. Then the painting begins. I like to work on one area at a time, shifting from section to section till I get to the background. On average a small painting takes me 2-12 hours. A large one 60+ hours.

I create because I must. I feel very strongly that I have a calling and that I can never give up on it. Every day I work, it's to support everything you see in my shop, and much more. I urge you to take a moment today, and truly be yourself. If you don't know who that is, then perhaps you need to ponder why.

Feel free to message me anytime on Etsy if you want to discuss my art. My inbox is always open. =)
