About

Hi! I'm Sharmen, and I am a freelance Counselor, a stay-at-home-homeschooling mom of two rowdy boys, and a this really fun art hobby! I just LOVE to paint! I've successfully sold my art on eBay, Art.com, ArtistRising.com, and through art galleries, boutiques and coffee shops here and there around the country.

I currently live in Goldsboro, NC - a very long way from my hometown of Pasco, WA. But, I've lived here for 17 years, and I think I've finally gotten used to the humidity. And the bugs. Actually, I sometimes USE the bugs for inspiration. I guess that comes from having two boys, who love to play with those bugs.

Actually, I sometimes USE the bugs for inspiration. I guess that comes from having two boys, who love to play with those bugs.

I have my masters degree in professional counseling, and currently own my own practice while I also work toward my state licensure in counseling. For me, learning to paint has become a part of my own journey of enjoying life and challenging myself to develop something I had always admired but never tried. I love to figure out how to make something look real. Or really neat. Or just pretty. It's just fun! And it gives me a great break from the normal routine, like folding the mountains of laundry or cleaning the dishes or scrubbing the mud out of the carpet...again.

And, I am almost always willing to try to paint anything. So, if you're looking for something unique and can't find it anywhere, let me know and I'll see what I can work up for you. Almost everything I have painted started out with someone asking if I could make it for them. I love the challenge of trying something new.
