Welcome to Far Afield jewelry! Check out my bestselling wirewrapped rings. My rings are formed using a mandrel, and tumbled for strength and smoothness. I love to use lampwork glass, for its durability and beauty, as well as gemstones. Most of what is offered here is sterling silver- however, I usually have goldfilled, Argentium silver, and brass wire in stock as well. If you would like a ring you see here but on a different kind of wire, please contact me and I'll see what I can do!

...If you have time, have a peek at my de-stash and jewelry seconds shop at farafieldtreasures.etsy.com. Thanks!

About me:

Oh my gosh, do I love playing with color. I can remember when I was young I would choose weird color combinations for my clothes, like fuchsia with olive green, and I would just *love* how it looked (hee). I still do, and you are sure to find some offbeat combos here in my shop. I like the unexpected and hold out the hope that it hasn't been done before a million times over. One thing has changed, though--I wear a lot of solid, neutral clothing now and let the jewelry stand out, color-wise. :-)

Regarding my shop name, I am enjoying my new life as a stay-at-home mom, "far afield" from my former career working at universities.

I have a flickr page where I unsystematically upload pictures now and again of my work. If you'd like to check out some of my work present and past, it's at:

Special notes about materials:

I have decided not to purchase genuine coral for my jewelry as it is an endangered organism.

I recycle my excess sterling silver wire.

My home is smoke-free.
